        53年生于康尼迪克州（Connecticut）的New Haven。80年代末起，Bolton 成為了最優(yōu)秀的搖滾樂歌手之一。 　　在Bolton的成長過程中，他一直喜愛騷靈音樂，喜愛聽 Steive Wonder, Ray Charles和 Marvin Gaye的歌曲。早在他十五歲時，便登臺演唱，在家鄉(xiāng)的一些酒吧、俱樂部中獻藝，這為他以后的成功打下了堅實的基礎(chǔ)。 　　起初，Bolton的歌運并不很理想，推出的幾首單曲以及兩個專輯都沒有引起什么反響。70年代末，Bolton 成為硬搖滾樂隊“Blackjack”的主唱，注重從屬風格搖滾的發(fā)揮，后來樂隊解散，Bolton轉(zhuǎn)而進入哥倫比亞公司以求發(fā)展。 　　為女歌手Laura Branigan在1983年作的《How Am I Supposed to Live without You》一炮打響，紅遍歌壇。接著他又翻唱了已故靈歌巨星奧蒂斯·雷丁的名曲《Sitting on the Dock of the Boy》，獲得成功。接著Bolton又重唱了《How Am I Supposed To Live Without You》，聽來令人激情蕩漾。這首90年代初排行榜上的冠軍歌曲，使他獲得了該年度的葛萊美流行男歌手獎。從此開始,推出了一系列碧浪靈歌《How Can We Be Lovers》，《Love Is A Wonderful Thing》。91年的專輯《Time Love and Tenderness》一經(jīng)問世，迅速榮登榜首，在數(shù)月里保持在前十的位置。 　　Michael Bolton憑藉獨特的演繹和聲線， 　　以及極富創(chuàng)意的作詞、作曲的才華，贏得了 　　樂迷的欣賞，成為80年代到90年代樂壇炙手可熱的巨星。
